Me, Boat, Wesley

A day with Santa Claus...the town.

Yesterday Wesley and I ventured to Holiday World. Whilst we stood in line to purchase 40 dollar tickets a nervous looking woman approached us. She offered us two tickets for $40, a real steal. It seemed she had won several tickets and wanted to make a little profit, which was fine with me.

When we got into the park we went for the Raven. It was on this ride that I discovered the hilarious noises Wesley makes while on a roller coaster. It was a mix of Joey from Blossom's "whoa,"  an interesting "whoo" noise, and a laugh that resembled Goofy. It was adorable.

We also went on the Voyage for the first time. That sucker goes 70 mph and has the tallest drop I've ever seen. Unfortunately, 70 mph plus wooden roller coaster equaled me being jostled around to where I ended up slamming my left ear into Wesley's shoulder. Don't worry, I'm fine.

I had wanted to go on the Pilgrim's Plunge, but the line was ridiculously long and I was getting a little overwhelmed with the crowd by that point.

All and all it was a lot of fun. I am now left with a blister on my toe and sore legs from walking, but it was worth it. :-)

Cool for Cats

It appears I forgot to mention the little adorable ball of fur I rescued the other day. It was early Friday morning at the office that the young fellow working there brought to my attention a tiny meowing coming from outside. He began walking towards the faint noise and discovered a tiny kitten peeking in the floor length window next to the double doors. He beckoned me over and there it was, now hiding under a bush, in all its gray and white cuteness. I called my Mom up since she'd been thinking about getting a brother/sister for Jerry Lee. She quickly agreed to take the cat, but I was afraid it would run off before she arrived. Daniel (the young fellow) went outside, quickly scooped it up, and put it in his car until Mom came to the rescue.

The kitten is extremely loving and playful. Jerry seems to think she's a new toy. He likes to pounce on her and play too rough, hopefully he'll tone it down a bit.

Wesley bought an Xbox yesterday! We played Rockband 2 all day on the snazzy new console. I created a cute little goth rocker chick for myself to play in the game. I didn't even step foot out of the house today...I just sat on my bum and played drums on Easy and still sucked at it. I still had a ton of fun though! I just wish I could move onto Medium, but that day may never come. I've been stuck on the Medium mode on the guitar for two years.

Anyway, the Xbox was not all that was purchased yesterday. I grabbed some cute tops to wear to work and a Fangtasia tee shirt, which I'm psyched about it. I unfortunately do not have HBO so I couldn't watch the premiere of the second season of True Blood. Wesley's parents do have HBO though and they can record it. I'm just hoping they remembered to do it. I'll just be a bit behind in my giddy talk at the office.

I was so surprised that so many people like the show at my workplace. For example: I opened a can of Fresca the other day and was like ''Ah, Fresca. Bill has this '..for guests'" and the ladies at work totally got it. It is sort of like being a 15 year old girl again talking about whatever teen heartthrob is the flavor of the week.

Vampire

True Blood and Tilapia

It is Sunday. It is tainted with the following day, Monday. I despise Monday. It forces you roll out of bed at 7am when for the past 2 days you've been getting up around 10am or later.

I did manage to get a few things done over the weekend. I cleaned the bathroom and the living room, went to the grocery store, and did some laundry.

Tonight I'm making dinner! I'm thinking tilapia on mixed greens, steamed vegetables and chocolate fudge frozen yogurt for dessert.

I rented the first 2 episodes of True Blood Season 1. Wesley hasn't seen a single episode yet so I'm excited to show him. Who wouldn't love a show that uses the phrases and terms "fangbangers," "out of the coffin," and "God hates fangs"?

I got the new job! I'm super pumped because I will no longer be coming home smelling of lasagna and failure.

My livejournal "word cloud"

Wordle: Livejournal

My lovely word cloud was created by wordle.net. You simply link your blog, livejournal (as I did)  or insert text of your choice and in a few seconds you have your very own clump of words that look snazzy. The words that you use the most often will appear larger than the rest. You can see that I obviously talk about Wesley too much.

Early morning recap

So here I am at 5:57am eating frosted shredded wheat and writing a livejournal entry. Let's see...what's new in my life...I saw Watchmen on the 6th. I was a little disappointed . I had read the graphic novel and wasn't exactly expecting the movie makers to get it just right...and they didn't. The film looked fantastic, but meanings were lost.

I did enjoy going to the film with Wesley. We were both equally annoyed when several girls behind us would snicker every time Dr. Manhattan's blue penis made an appearance.

On the 7th Wesley and I went up to visit Jesse for his birthday. A ton of people met at Buffalo Wild Wings, drank, and ate wings. I attempted a "blazin'" and will not soon forget it. It was a horrible experience. I can't imagine anyone finding that hot of a wing to be tasty. I had to keep sucking on ice cubes that someone graciously handed me. I'm a mild girl, and even then those aren't without their heat. Anyway, after two 23oz glasses of beer I was drunk. I am such a cheap date...The rest of the night was mostly spent at my old pal Kirsten's apartment. She let Wesley and I crash in her spare bedroom after we all played several rounds of Guitar Hero III (I need more practice-the pinky is weak).

On the 10th I got my hair whacked off. I'm still not really used to it. After all, my hair was past my shoulders and now rests far above them. It is a cute little pixie-esque do that reminds me of Julia Roberts as Tinkerbell in Hook. It wasn't what I expected at all. The hairstylist got extremely scissor happy, but I'm not too worried. Hair grows.

I think I'll try going back to sleep. I don't have to work this morning, but do have to go in later tonight. It will be difficult going to bed sans Wesley. He's at work, making people better and all that.

Meet the Parents...

So last night Wesley met my parents briefly while I made a pit stop at their house before heading to his place. Everything went peachy and both of them approve highly of him. This is new for me. In the past, though I haven't had many boyfriends, they have never liked the boy. Tonight Wesley will be having dinner with my family: a feast of fried catfish, roasted potatoes, and cole slaw (mmm down home cookin').  I'm sure they'll like him even more after this evening (it is hard not to like him).

I still have yet to clean up my bedroom in order to make it appear less teen angst-y. Part of me wants to leave my stuffed animals and high school awards in place where another part of me desperately wants to paint over the lavender walls and make it resemble my current semi-maturity. I don't believe I'll ever claim to be mature. What does that mean anyway?

I have to cut this little entry short since my mother keeps attempting to converse with me and I am getting distracted.

So here I am...

I have finally broken down and obtained a livejournal. Although, now that I have it I'm not quite sure what to do with it. I am not all together witty or interesting. My writings are usually ramblings and I can't imagine anyone really wanting to read them...

I suppose I can begin with what is new in my life. I have a boyfriend! It is all still new and exciting. His name is Wesley and he's wonderful. I'm convinced he has stepped from the pages of a storybook romance.

We weren't able to spend Valentine's Day together because of my previously made plans to spend it visiting my friend Katie while her husband was out of town. She and I went to Nashville on the 14th and she sported her cynical "Love is for Losers" tee shirt. While getting gas before our little trip some strange man at the adjacent gas pump felt he needed to cheer her up because of this sentiment. She attempted to ignore him. Once we got on the interstate the man reappeared, passing us at top speed while lifting up his shirt to reveal his nipple. Katie and I were obviously disgusted and he no longer attempted to flirt with us in awkward car fashion.

We didn't do much in Nashville except walk around and check out tacky souvenirs. We had lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe and I observed the very tiny Nikki Sixx jumpsuit on display. That evening we played Rockband and I attempted to play the drums for the first time. I actually did really well considering I used to believe I had no rhythm.

When I returned home on the 15th Wesley surprised me with a red rose and chocolate covered strawberries. I was easily wooed.
